David Duchovny was born on August 7, 1960, in New York, NY. In 1997 he married actress Tea Leoni, and in 1999 his daughter, Madeleine West Duchovny, was born. He studied At both Princeton and Yale, but he abandoned these studies in 1987 to pursue acting full-time. First starting out by playing bit roles, David`s acting
career took off with a recurring role on Twin Peaks as cross-dressing DEA Agent Dennis/Denise Bryson. He then took on a minor appearance in Beethoven and the recurring role of Jake in The Red Shoe Diaries. In 1993, he joined The X-Files, playing Fox Mulder. That same year, he starred alongside Brad Pitt in the seria killer film Kalifornia. He continued starring in The Red Shoe Diaries films before taking on the leading role of Eugene Sands in the 1997 film Playing God. In 1998, he hit the big screen again in the X-Files feature film before
returning to the television series for another two seasons that he was not previously contracted for. During this time, he wrote and directed the sixth season episode The Unnatural and the seventh season episode Hollywood AD -- until The Unnatural, David had only
contributed story ideas for the episodes Colony, Anasazi, Avatar, and Talitha Cumi. He also co-wrote The Sixth Extinction II: Amor Fati with Chris Carter. In 2000, David starred alongside Minnie Driver in the romance film Return To Me. He also added an eighth year to his X-Files contract, but agreed to appear in just over half of the total episodes, at which point Robert Patrick joined the cast to fill the gap made in David`sabsence. David used this time away from the show to film Evolution, which, unfortunately, did not do very well at the box office. David hopes to launch a feature film career, both in front of and behind the camera.
